The one clear lesson of San Bernardino: Block access to the deadliest weaponry
Column published December 3rd, 2015
Ignatius' purpose in writing this article is to discuss how the tragic events of San Bernardino can be used as an example and to further push the viewpoint that there should be limits on assault weaponry in America. He begins this by discussing what weapons the terrorists were using and how such dangerous weapons are easily accessed with America's current laws concerning gun control. His main point throughout the entire column is that whether the shootings were an act of terrorism or not, people with the intent to hurt others shouldn't be able to access such dangerous weaponry to accomplish their goals. Ignatius also points out that instead of being worried about Syrian immigrants that Governors should focus more on preventing potential terrorists of any nationality from being able to commit such mass shootings with assault weapons.
